This is a unit of work my students really loved. Can be used for ages 13+. This can last 2-3 lessons. This is teaching students how to write a tension -filled piece of work. The lesson looks at examples from the recent James Bond film, ‘No Time to Die’, ‘No Country for Old Men’ and 'Archer. Please view the clips before the lesson to make sure you deem them appropriate. I have also included a great starter on movie anagrams. Run-on sentences is one the most common errors students make in their writing. This lesson will focuses on how to correct them. The students will learn ways to help properly write two complete sentences (independent clauses) in one sentence by using the correct punctuation and conjunctions. It is based on an extract from the Sally Rooney novel, Normal People. My students enjoyed it. Aimed at grade 4-6 students.
